International Day of Seafarers 2024

On June 25, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Sailor was held in Batumi harbor.
Representatives of the maritime profession were awarded for their special contribution to the development of the maritime industry and for bravery at sea: long-distance captain Anzor Diasamidze, General Director of "Black Sea Terminal" Ilgar Ali-Zadeh, Chancellor of Batumi University of Navigation Training Lali Khvedelidze,Captain of long-distance navigation Archil Inasaridze, as well as captains of long-distance navigation Vazha Dzhangveladze and Alexander Surmanidze, chief mechanics: Ali Sarishvili and Anatoly Sikharulidze, head of crewing company "El-Viktor" Soslan Chkhaidze and head of maritime transport agency, "one-stop-shop" maritime system management service Eka Baramidze.

The event concluded with a traditional minute's silence for seafarers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and a crowning ceremony at sea was held against the backdrop of the ship's horns. .
2024 campaign celebrates the contribution of seafarers in making the maritime sector a safer place to work.
It was revealed today that the Seafarers' Occupational Safety and Health Act will come into force on July 1.
